About Ajiona
Ajiona Alexus was born on March 16, 1996, in Tuskegee, Alabama. From a young age, she loved performing. She recited her first monologue on stage when she was just 8 years old! She studied Theater Arts at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. Ajiona started her acting career in 2008, when she was 12 years old.
Her Acting Journey
Ajiona's first regular role on TV was in the sitcom The Rickey Smiley Show. She played the character De’Anna from 2012 to 2014. After that, she made guest appearances in popular medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy and Code Black in 2015.
Big Roles on TV
One of Ajiona's most recognized roles was playing the teenage version of Cookie Lyon in the musical drama series Empire. She appeared in this show from 2016 to 2019.
She also starred as Sheri Holland in the Netflix teen drama series 13 Reasons Why from 2017 to 2018. This show was very popular with young audiences. In 2018, she joined the cast of the supernatural thriller Light as a Feather on Hulu.
More recently, in 2021, Ajiona starred in the crime drama series BMF on Starz. In 2023, she appeared in two Lifetime movies, Real Love and Strength of a Woman. These movies were inspired by songs from the famous singer Mary J. Blige.
