Akiane Kramarik was born in Mount Morris, Illinois, on July 9, 1994. She grew up with a mother from Lithuania and an American father. Akiane has shared that she saw visions, including the face of Jesus Christ. She went to a religious school for a short time, but then she was taught at home.

Akiane says that art she saw in school, like sculptures and paintings, made her interested in famous figures. She felt she saw things in a deeper way than others. She believes her main inspiration comes from her visions of Heaven and her spiritual experiences.

Her Amazing Paintings

Akiane is a self-taught painter, meaning she learned to paint all by herself. She says that Jesus spoke to her when she was four years old. He encouraged her to draw and paint what she saw in her visions. She began drawing at age four, started painting at six, and began writing poetry when she was seven.

When Akiane was eight years old, she painted Jesus. Her very first self-portrait, a painting of herself, was sold for US$10,000. Her paintings often tell a story or have a spiritual meaning. They often show Jesus, children, animals, and even herself. Sometimes she gets ideas from magazine pictures.

By the time she was 12, Akiane had already finished sixty large paintings. Some of her artworks have even been bought by the US Embassy in Singapore.

The Prince of Peace Painting

Akiane Kramarik has said that Prince of Peace is her "favorite portrait." It is one of her most memorable paintings. When she was eight, she was looking for the right person to help her paint a picture from her dreams. A family friend introduced her to a carpenter. The man's face looked very much like what Akiane remembered as the face of Jesus.

She worked on the portrait for 40 hours to complete it. After she finished, the painting was sent to her agent for an art show. However, it was stolen and sold without her permission. For 16 years, the original painting was kept hidden in a bank vault. The owner at the time would not show or sell it. In December 2019, Akiane's family finally got Prince of Peace back. It was then sold to a private collector for $850,000.
