Akira Kawaguchi's Football Journey

Akira Kawaguchi was born in Kashiwa, Japan, on January 24, 1967. After he finished university, he started his professional football career. His first team was called Efini Sapporo.

Playing for Top Teams

In 1993, Akira Kawaguchi joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima. This team played in the J1 League, which is the highest football league in Japan. Even though he was part of the team, he did not play in any official matches during his time there.

In 1995, he moved to another big club, Nagoya Grampus Eight. He played in two matches for this team. He was often a backup goalkeeper, meaning he was ready to play if the main goalkeeper, Yuji Ito, couldn't.

Time at Fukushima FC
