Akron is a small village in Tuscola County, located in the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2020, about 349 people lived there.
The village is situated on the edge of two areas: Akron Township to the north and Fairgrove Township to the south. The village itself is split almost equally between these two townships. Akron also has a post office with the ZIP code 48701. This post office serves parts of Akron Township, Fairgrove Township, and other nearby areas like Wisner Township, Columbia Township, and Almer Township.

History of Akron
Akron was first settled in 1854 by a person named Charles H. Beach. Because of him, the area was first known as Beach's Corners.
The name was changed to Akron in 1857. This happened when a post office was officially opened in the village.
