Aksel Hennie (born 29 October 1975) is a talented Norwegian actor, director, and screenwriter. He is well-known for his exciting roles in movies like Headhunters (2011), Hercules (2014), and The Martian (2015).

Early life and inspiration
Aksel Hennie was born in Oslo, Norway, on October 29, 1975. When he was a teenager, he was involved in graffiti art. This experience later helped him create the background for his film Uno. His early artistic journey shows how real-life events can inspire creative projects.
Aksel Hennie's acting journey
Aksel Hennie worked hard to get into the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre. He applied four times before finally being accepted! He finished his studies in 2001. After graduating, he performed in plays at different theaters, including Hamlet.
Film career starts
Hennie's biggest success has been in movies. He first starred in the film Jonny Vang in 2003. The director, Jens Lien, initially thought Aksel was too young. However, Aksel convinced him he was perfect for the part. That same year, he also appeared in Buddy and Ulvesommer.
Directing and awards
In 2004, Aksel Hennie tried something new. He directed and wrote the film Uno, and he also acted in it! For this movie, he and his co-star trained for six months. They wanted to look like real bodybuilders for their roles.
Aksel Hennie has won many awards for his work. In 2001, a newspaper called Dagbladet named him "Theatre Talent of the Year." He won the Amanda Award, which is a major Norwegian film award. He won "Best Direction" for Uno in 2005. He also won "Best Actor" for Jonny Vang in 2003. In 2004, he was recognized as one of European film's "Shooting Stars."
Later film roles
In 2008, Hennie starred in Max Manus. He played the famous Norwegian war hero of the same name. This film was a big production for Norway. In 2011, he was in Age of Heroes, another World War II movie.
In 2013, Aksel Hennie played the main role in Pionér. This film was about a commercial offshore diver in the 1970s. His character searches for answers after seeing an accident during a dive.
In December 2013, Aksel Hennie won an Angela Award at a film festival in Kilkenny. This was for his role in the movie 90 Minutes. He also talked to the audience after a showing of Headhunters.
