Alamo (which is called Navajo: Tʼiistoh in the Navajo language) is a special kind of community in Socorro County, New Mexico, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). In 2020, about 1,150 people lived there. Alamo is the biggest community on the Alamo Navajo Indian Reservation.

Learning in Alamo
Alamo is part of the Magdalena Municipal Schools district. This district also runs schools in Magdalena, New Mexico.
The main school in Alamo is the Alamo Navajo Community School. This school teaches students from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. It is connected with the Bureau of Indian Education.
For many years, students from Alamo had to go to schools far away. A school operated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) was in the community from 1930 to 1941. After that, students lived in dorms in other cities to attend school. In 1957, students started going to Magdalena Municipal Schools. The Alamo Navajo Community School finally opened in Alamo itself on October 1, 1979, for grades K-8. The high school section was added on December 15, 1980.
