Albesa (say "al-BEH-za") is a small town, also called a municipality, in Catalonia, Spain. It's located in an area known as Noguera, which is part of the province of Lleida. About 1,500 people live here.

History of Albesa
Albesa has a long and interesting history. In the year 1003, a big fight known as the battle of Albesa happened here. Later, in 1098, Christian forces took control of the ancient castle in Albesa. You can still see parts of this old castle today!
