Albina Nikolaevna Deriugina (born March 16, 1932 – died March 29, 2023) was a very famous rhythmic gymnastics coach from Ukraine. She helped her daughter, Irina Deriugina, become a champion. Together, they formed a powerful coaching team. Albina Deriugina was even given the highest award in Ukraine, called the Hero of Ukraine, in 2002.

Her Journey in Gymnastics
Albina Deriugina was born in 1932 in a city called Makiivka. She married Ivan Deriuhin, who was an Olympic gold medalist in a sport called modern pentathlon. They had a daughter named Irina Deriugina.
Coaching Her Daughter
Albina became a coach for the Soviet Union's rhythmic gymnastics team. She coached her own daughter, Iryna, to amazing success. Iryna won gold medals at the 1977 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships and the 1979 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. These were huge wins for them!
A Powerful Coaching Team
After Iryna stopped competing at age 24, she joined her mother, Albina, as a coaching team. They opened their own special school for gymnastics. Together, they trained many athletes who went on to win an incredible 120 gold medals! One of their famous students was Hanna Rizatdinova.
