How Aldao Became a Town

Towards the end of the 1800s, two important people, Don Camilo Aldao and Don José María Cullen, helped bring new people to the area. Many of these new settlers were Italians, especially from a region called Molise. The first homes in Aldao were built in 1886. By the end of that year, a train station was also built.

In 1905, an Italian immigrant named Don Gerónimo Lagomarsino bought all the land from the Aldao and Cullen families. He decided to create a proper town. He planned the streets and set aside land for a school and a public square. This is how Aldao officially began to take shape!
