Alessandra Sala was born in Amalfi, a beautiful town in Italy. She loved learning about computers from a young age.
Her Education and Early Career
Alessandra studied computer science at the University of Salerno in Italy. She earned her first degree there in 2004. After that, she continued her studies and earned a doctorate, which is a very advanced degree, also from the University of Salerno.
After finishing her studies, she did more research at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the United States. This helped her gain even more experience before she joined Bell Labs in 2012.

In 2021, Alessandra Sala won a special award called the XV International Prize "Le Tecnovisionarie." She won in the category for AI - Industrial Research.
