Early Life and Education
Alex Bain was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. His parents are Debra and Paul Bain. From a young age, Alex was very interested in performing. He took lessons in dance, drama, and musical theatre at the Bernese School of Theatre Dance and Drama.
He went to Griffin Park Primary School in Blackburn and then to Walton-le-Dale High School in Preston. After high school, he continued his training in Musical Theatre and Dance for two years at Shockout Arts in Manchester.
Acting Career
Alex Bain started his acting career with a television advertisement for Rice Krispies. His first big role was in a BBC drama series called Sunshine.
After Sunshine, Alex joined the cast of the famous soap opera Coronation Street. He began playing the character of Simon Barlow in 2008. Simon Barlow is a well-known character on the show, and Alex played him for many years, becoming a familiar face to viewers. He left the role in 2024.
