Robert Alexander Blackwell (born June 27, 1970) is a retired American professional basketball player. He is best known for playing briefly with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Alex was a strong player, standing 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. He played as a forward.

Early Life and High School
Alex Blackwell grew up in Toms River, New Jersey. He started his high school basketball journey at Toms River High School North. For his final year of high school, he moved to Oak Hill Academy. This school is famous for its strong basketball program.
College Basketball Career
After high school, Alex went on to play college basketball. He attended Monmouth College (now known as Monmouth University). This university is located in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He played for the Monmouth Hawks from 1989 to 1992.
Playing in the NBA
In 1992, Alex Blackwell was drafted into the NBA. He joined one of the most famous teams, the Los Angeles Lakers. During the 1992–93 NBA season, Alex played in 27 games for the Lakers. He averaged about 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds per game. His time in the NBA was short, but it was a big achievement.
