Playing for Técnico Universitario
Scoring Goals from 2010 to 2012
Alex Colón started scoring goals for Técnico Universitario in 2011. He scored 11 goals in the Serie B season that year. Some of his goals were against teams like River Plate and LDU Portoviejo.
In 2012, Alex had an amazing start in the Serie A season. He scored three goals in one game against Olmedo. This is called a hat-trick! He also scored important goals against big teams. These included LDU Quito, Emelec, and Barcelona SC. He finished the 2012 season with 10 goals. His great playing made other teams interested in him.
Joining Deportivo Quito
Making an Impact in 2013
In 2013, Alex Colón joined Deportivo Quito and wore the number 10 jersey. He quickly showed his skill. He scored a fantastic long-range goal against Deportivo Quevedo.
He also scored a clever chipped goal against Barcelona's goalkeeper, Maximo Banguera. Alex continued to score beautiful goals. One memorable goal was a long-range chip against Emelec. He even scored two amazing goals in one game against Deportivo Cuenca. One of these was from the middle of the field! He ended the year with many impressive goals.
Moving to Pachuca
After his great performance, Alex Colón moved to Pachuca, a team in Mexico. He scored his first goal for Pachuca on January 25, 2014. This goal helped his team win 3-1 against Club León.
Loan to Mineros Zacatecas
Later, Alex Colón was loaned to Mineros de Zacatecas. This meant he played for them for a while, but he was still officially a Pachuca player. Mineros de Zacatecas is a team in Mexico's Ascenso MX league.
Playing for His Country
Because Alex Colón played so well in 2013, he was called up to the Ecuador National Team. The coach, Reinaldo Rueda, wanted him for the 2014 World Cup Qualifier matches. These were important games against Peru and Argentina.
Alex played his first unofficial game for Ecuador in a friendly match. He scored two goals in that game after coming on as a substitute.
