Alexander John Gregory (born 11 March 1984) is a famous British rower. He used to compete for Great Britain. Alex is known for winning many big races. He has won six world championships. He also won two Olympic gold medals. These wins were at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics. He won both in an event called the Coxless four.

Learning and Early Life
Alex Gregory grew up in England. He went to school in Cheltenham and Ashton under Hill. Later, he attended Prince Henry's High School in Evesham. After high school, he went to the University of Reading. He finished his studies there in 2006.
Alex's Rowing Journey
Alex started rowing for Great Britain in 2004. This was at the World Under-23 Championships. He finished 11th in the quad boat. The next year, he was 4th in the double boat. In 2006, he was 8th in the single boat. After university, he became a full member of the men's rowing team. He was also the Captain of the Leander Club. This is a very old and famous rowing club.
Olympic Dreams and First Wins

In 2015, Alex was part of the British team again. They won the most medals at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. This event was in France. Alex won a gold medal in the "eight" boat. Awards and Recognition
