Alex Jacke is a talented singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, CA. He grew up in the Los Feliz neighborhood. From a young age, Alex loved music, especially R&B and Hip Hop from the 1990s. He also enjoys soul, funk, gospel, rock, and pop music.
Alex taught himself to play the piano. He started writing his own songs when he was in middle school. When he began college at Morehouse College, he knew music was his future. He spent his time writing songs and performing at school events. He also performed at different places around Atlanta.
During his second year of college, Alex appeared on the popular MTV show "My Super Sweet 16." He was a special guest performer for Christy, the daughter of DJ Spinderella and former NBA player Kenny Anderson. His performance caught the eye of music executive and producer Laney Stewart. Stewart invited Alex to work with him that summer.
Alex took the chance to follow his dream. He left Morehouse College at the end of his third year to go back to Los Angeles. Laney Stewart helped Alex, just like he helped other artists before. In 2011, Alex signed a worldwide publishing deal with Music Gallery/Universal Music Publishing Group. With Stewart and his production team, The Sharpshootaz, Alex worked on his first music collection. This collection, called "D.F.M.," was released on July 9, 2012. Later, on Valentine's Day 2013, Alex released a "Deluxe" version of "D.F.M."
