Algoma Cross Tie Festival
Every year, on the first weekend of October, Algoma hosts its special "Algoma Cross Tie Festival." This festival is a fun event for everyone! It features live music from local artists and an auction. There's also a cool car and tractor show. Many booths sell different items.
The festival started because of the H. B. Owen Cross-Tie Factory. This factory was once owned by Hardiman Brackett Owen in Algoma. It was one of the biggest industries in the southern United States. Even today, Algoma continues to celebrate its history with "The Cross-Tie Festival."
