This set a new record for the club. In 2005, he played a few games for the Lynx before going back to the Impact. Ali left the Lynx as their second-highest scorer ever, with 24 goals in total. With the Impact, he helped the team stay undefeated for 15 games, which was a league record. Because of his great play, he was chosen to play for Canada in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
