Ali Ngon Gerba (born September 4, 1981) is a former professional soccer player. He played as a forward, which means he was a goal scorer. Ali Gerba was born in Cameroon, but he played for the Canadian national team.

Ali Gerba's Soccer Journey
Playing in Canada and the United States
Ali Gerba started his professional career in 2000 with the Montreal Impact. At that time, they were part of the A-League. He scored six goals and made two assists, which was a record for a new player on the team.
In 2001, Ali tried to join a bigger league, Major League Soccer, with the Miami Fusion. However, he didn't play any games for them. He returned to the A-League in 2002, first with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and then the Toronto Lynx.
In 2003, Ali was the top scorer for the Lynx with six goals. He then moved back to the Montreal Impact. He returned to the Toronto Lynx in 2004 and had an amazing season, scoring 15 goals. This set a new record for the club. In 2005, he went back to the Impact again. He helped the team stay undefeated for 15 games, which was a league record. Because of his great play, he was chosen to play for the Canadian national team in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Playing in Europe
After playing in the Gold Cup, Ali Gerba moved to Europe in 2005. He joined a Swedish club called GIF Sundsvall. He scored 6 goals in 11 games for them. When the team moved down to a lower league, Ali joined another Swedish club, IFK Gothenburg.
He was loaned to other teams during his time in Europe. In 2006, he played for Odd Grenland in Norway. In 2007, he was loaned to AC Horsens in Denmark. In 2008, he joined a German club called FC Ingolstadt 04. Later that year, he signed with Milton Keynes Dons in England. He scored his first goal for them in his second game.
Coming Back to Canada
In 2009, Ali Gerba returned to Canada and signed with Toronto FC. He made his first official appearance for Toronto FC in July 2009. He scored a goal in his very first game for them against the Columbus Crew.
In 2010, Ali joined the Montreal Impact for the fourth time in his career. During this time, he set a new club record for the fastest goal ever, scoring just 18 seconds into a game! He also scored the club's first "hat-trick" (three goals in one game) in a regular season match. Ali Gerba finished his time with the Montreal Impact in October 2011.
Playing for Canada
Ali Gerba first played for the Canadian national team in July 2005. He became one of Canada's top goal scorers. By December 2009, he had scored 15 goals in 28 international games.
He played for Canada in three CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments. He also played in games to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Ali Gerba holds the record for the most goals scored by a Canadian player in the Gold Cup, with six goals.
