Alistair Jardine "Ali" McMordie (born 31 March 1959) is a talented bass guitarist from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He is most famous for being a founding member of the band Stiff Little Fingers. He played with them from 1977 until they broke up in 1983. He also joined them again for their reunion tours a few years later.

Ali McMordie has had a long and interesting career in music. He has played with several bands and artists. He is also involved in managing tours for musicians.
Starting with Stiff Little Fingers
Ali McMordie was a key part of Stiff Little Fingers from the very beginning. He played bass guitar for the band. They were active from 1977 until 1983. After the band reunited, Ali also joined them for their first few tours.
New Bands and Projects
After Stiff Little Fingers disbanded in 1983, Ali McMordie joined a new band. This group was called Friction Groove. They were a dance-punk band from Reading. They signed a deal with Atlantic Records.
Friction Groove recorded an album called The Black Box. They recorded it in Berlin and Brussels. Their first single, "Time Bomb," was briefly on the music charts.
Around 1986, Ali and other Friction Groove members played with Sinéad O'Connor. She was a singer who had just moved to London. Ali's time with her band later ended.
Working with Other Artists
From 1992 to 1994, Ali McMordie was an executive producer. He helped organize the Peace Together Irish concert events. These concerts promoted peace.
Since 1994, Ali has worked as a tour manager for Moby. Moby is a well-known American artist. Ali has also sometimes played bass with Moby's band.
In 2006, Ali also played live bass for Dan Donnelly. Dan is a singer-songwriter from Belfast. Ali played in Dan's band at the Beautiful Days Festival in 2006.
Rejoining Stiff Little Fingers
In 2006, it was announced that Ali McMordie would rejoin Stiff Little Fingers. He joined them for their tours. Later, he became a permanent member of the band again. As of 2025, he continues to play bass with Stiff Little Fingers.
Tour Management
Besides being a musician, Ali McMordie also runs his own business. It is called Alistair McMordie Tour Management. He helps other artists organize their tours.
