Alistair Jardine "Ali" McMordie (born March 31, 1959, in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a talented bass guitarist. He is best known as one of the founding members of the famous punk rock band Stiff Little Fingers. He played with the band from 1977 until they first broke up in 1983. He later rejoined them for their reunion tours.

Ali McMordie's Musical Journey
Early Years with Stiff Little Fingers
Ali McMordie helped start the band Stiff Little Fingers in 1977. He played bass guitar with them for six years. The band became very popular in the punk rock scene. They released several albums and toured often.
New Musical Adventures
After Stiff Little Fingers stopped playing together in 1983, Ali explored other music projects.
Friction Groove
He joined a new band called Friction Groove. This group played a mix of dance and punk music. They signed a record deal and recorded an album called The Black Box.
Working with Other Artists
Around 1986, Ali played bass for the singer Sinéad O'Connor. She was just starting her music career in London at that time.
Ali also worked as an executive producer for the Peace Together concerts. These were special music events held in Ireland between 1992 and 1994.
Since 1994, Ali has been the tour manager for the American artist Moby. A tour manager helps plan and organize a musician's tours. Sometimes, Ali even plays bass with Moby's band during live shows. He has also played live bass for Belfast singer-songwriter Dan Donnelly. For example, he played with Dan's band at the Beautiful Days Festival in 2006.
Rejoining Stiff Little Fingers
In 2006, it was announced that Ali McMordie would rejoin Stiff Little Fingers. He first came back for their tours. Later, he decided to rejoin the band permanently. As of 2021, he is still playing bass with Stiff Little Fingers.
Beyond the Stage
Besides being a musician, Ali McMordie also runs his own company. It is called Alistair McMordie Tour Management. This company helps other musicians organize their tours.
