Early Life and Musical Training
Anahid Sirooni was born in New York City. Her parents were Aroose Vartanian and Ardshir Sirooni. She loved music from a young age. Anahid studied piano at the famous Juilliard School, a top music academy. She earned her first diploma in piano in 1939. She then continued her studies and received a special postgraduate diploma in 1942.
A Rising Star on Stage
Anahid Sirooni made her first big public appearance as a pianist on February 27, 1945. She performed a solo concert at Town Hall in New York City. A review in the New York Times newspaper mentioned that the audience really enjoyed her playing. Later, on March 11, 1951, Anahid Sirooni performed again at Town Hall. This time, she introduced a new piece of music called "Symphonic Preludes" by John Haussermann to the New York audience. This performance was also reported in the New York Times.
Touring and Collaborations
Anahid Sirooni didn't just play in New York. She traveled and performed all over the eastern United States. She also appeared on TV and radio shows. She was part of a group called the Amory Bishop Sirooni Trio. In this trio, she played piano with soprano Ruth Bishop and tenor Bruce Amory. Anahid also gave concerts with violinist Herbert Baumel, showing her skill in playing with other musicians.
