Alicia Banit is an Australian actress and dancer. She was born on 5 September 1990. She is best known for her role as Kat in the ABC television series Dance Academy. She also had a main role in We Were Tomorrow and a regular part in Playing for Keeps.

Early Life and Dance
Alicia Banit started dancing when she was just four years old. She took lessons in many styles like tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop.
When she was 12, she earned a special scholarship. This allowed her to learn even more dance styles. These included contemporary, character, and acrobatics.
Acting Career
Alicia's first acting job was in 1998. She was only six years old. She played a small part in the Australian film Dead Letter Office. She was the younger version of the main character, Alice.
After this, she appeared in comedy skits on TV shows. These included In Melbourne Tonight and Rove. She then took a break from acting to focus on her dancing.
Returning to Acting
At 16, Alicia started acting again. She had a guest role in the TV soap opera Neighbours in 2006. She played Madison Sullivan for two episodes. She returned to Neighbours in 2008 as Sharni Hillman.
From 2007 to 2009, Alicia had two guest roles. These were on the Australian Disney Channel series As The Bell Rings. She played a character named Amber.
In 2007, she was cast as Kaitlyn in Chris Lilley's TV series Summer Heights High. She was in the first season of this show.
Key Roles and Dance Academy
In 2008, Alicia Banit appeared in Rush. She played Gemma Rose Parker. In 2009, she played Leah in the first season of Tangle.
Later in 2009, she got one of her most famous roles. She was cast as Katrina Karamakov in the ABC TV series Dance Academy. This show was very popular and focused on young dancers.
From 2010 to 2013, Alicia was a main cast member in Dance Academy. She appeared in 65 episodes. In 2017, she returned to play Kat in the movie Dance Academy: The Comeback.
Alicia also co-hosted the ABC3 show Studio 3 for a week in 2010. She worked alongside Kayne Tremills and Amberly Lobo.
Recent Work
More recently, Alicia has continued acting in television. In 2018, she played Siena Woodlands in the TV series We Were Tomorrow. She also had a recurring role as Karlie Lum in Playing for Keeps.
She appeared in the TV miniseries Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You in 2018. In 2019, she was in an episode of Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries. Her more recent roles include Summer Love (2022) and Crazy Fun Park (2023).
Personal Life
Alicia Banit shared on her Instagram that she became a mother. Her first child, Isla Joy, was born on October 10, 2022.
