The Alicyclobacillaceae are a family of gram-positive bacteria. Some of them are thermophiles, they can live at around 70 °C (158 °F). They also tolerate acidic pH levels of 1.5–5.5. They can make endospores. Alicyclobacillaceae are found in soil, water and in geothermal springs.
