Music Career

Early Start

Alina Grosu was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Her journey into music began after she won a singing competition. As a prize, she got to record a song in a professional studio. There, she met famous singer Iryna Bilyk, who helped her get started.

Together, they released four albums. Because of her growing success, Alina moved to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. She has also competed in big music contests like the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk and the national finals for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Change in Style

In 2017, Alina decided to change her musical style and released dance songs like “I want a bass,” “Remember,” and “Last Night.” The music videos for these songs became very popular, getting over a million views on YouTube in just one day.

In early 2018, she released a new song called "Lie" and her sixth album, "BASS."

Becoming GROSU

Starting in November 2018, Alina began performing under the new stage name GROSU. She also changed her image and went back to making more emotional, lyrical music. She released new songs like "Wild," "Loved," and "VOVA." In 2019, she even starred in a short musical film where she played a nun.

On March 12, 2021, she released her seventh album, titled "GROSU," which has 17 songs. Later that year, she went on a tour across Ukraine called "Invincible," performing in many cities. The tour's first part ended with a big show in Kyiv at the Palace "Ukraine."

Education

Alina has always balanced her music career with her studies. In 2010, she graduated from a high school in Kyiv. She then went to a college for circus and variety arts to study music.

That same year, she moved to Moscow, Russia, to study at the All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK). There, she studied to become a "film and theater actress."

In the spring of 2023, she moved to the United States to study at the Theatre of Arts Hollywood Acting School in Los Angeles.
