About Alison Acheson

Alison Acheson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. When she was young, she learned through both regular public school and correspondence school, where you study from home. She left school just before her sixteenth birthday and worked as a hairdresser. Later, she went back to college and university, earning degrees in arts and fine arts.

Alison has taught writing classes, especially about writing for children, at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. She also teaches creative writing workshops from her own website.

Alison Acheson lives in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia with her three sons. Her book, Dance Me to the End, shares her family's story during a very difficult time when her husband was seriously ill. This book became a bestseller in British Columbia.
