All About You was an educational television series. It aired in the early and mid-1970s. The show was shared with many educational and PBS stations. It was often part of weekday school TV programs.

What Was All About You?

All About You was a series of short TV shows. Each episode was usually 15 minutes long or less. The show was hosted by Louise McNamara. She later became a children's author. Ada Litchfield wrote the scripts for the series.

The show was made for young children, usually aged 6 to 8. Its main goal was to teach them about their bodies. It explained where bodies come from. It also showed why we have certain body parts. The series helped kids understand how their bodies work. The opening and closing parts of the show were fun. They featured cartoon drawings of kids at a circus. Circus music played along with the pictures.

Where Was It Made?

The series first started at WHRO-TV. This station was known as "Hampton Roads ETV." It was located in Hampton, Virginia. In 1974, the show's production moved. It then went to WGBH-TV in Boston.

At WGBH-TV, the show was part of a special school TV project. This project was called the "21-Inch Classroom." The episodes made in 1974 were shared across the US and Canada. This was done by the Agency for Instructional Television (AIT). All About You was one of the few WGBH shows not shared by NET or PBS.

Some episodes of All About You used things from another WGBH show. This other show was called ZOOM. If an episode used items from ZOOM, it would say "Special Thanks" to that program. This credit appeared at the end of the show.

Watching Episodes Today

You can still watch episodes of the WGBH version online. They are kept in the Moving Image Archive. This archive is at Indiana University. It holds most of the shows from AIT. AIT stopped its work in 2015.
