What AUOB Cymru Does

How It Started

AUOB Cymru was created because of a similar group in Scotland. That group is called All Under One Banner. They also organize marches for Scottish independence. AUOB Cymru was inspired by their work.

Big Marches and Events

AUOB Cymru held its very first march in Cardiff. This happened on May 11, 2019. About 2,000 people joined this first event. More people joined later marches in the same year.

For example, a march in Caernarfon saw many more people. Police said over 5,000 people were there. The organizers thought it was even more, around 8,000 people. Another march in Merthyr Tydfil in September also had a big crowd. Organizers estimated over 5,000 people attended.

Some marches planned for 2020 had to be stopped. This was because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AUOB Cymru announced two new marches for 2022. The first was in Wrexham on July 2. Organizers believed about 8,000 people came. A march in Cardiff on October 1 was the biggest yet. Organizers estimated around 10,000 people joined.

On May 20, 2023, AUOB Cymru and Yes Cymru led a march in Swansea. Nearly 7,000 people took part. The next march is planned for Bangor. It will be on September 23, 2023.
