What Allan Schore Studies
How the Brain and Emotions Connect
Allan Schore's research looks at many different areas. He studies how our brains affect our emotions. He also looks at how difficult experiences, like trauma, can impact us. He explores how children develop and how strong connections, like those with parents, shape us.
He uses brain imaging to see how our brains grow. This helps him understand how early relationships affect us. He also works as a therapist, helping people with their emotional challenges.
Schore has been cited over 20,000 times in scientific papers. This shows how important his work is to other scientists.
Understanding Emotions and How We Cope
A big part of Schore's work is about how we learn to manage our feelings. He studies how our biology, thoughts, and social life all connect to this.
He explains that if a baby doesn't have enough loving and responsive interactions with an adult, their brain might struggle. It can become harder for them to handle stress and new situations. This can make them less open to new learning experiences. It can also affect how their brain develops, especially the right side. This part of the brain is important for emotions and social connections.
