Allisen's Early Life and College Golf
Allisen Corpuz grew up in Hawaii. Her father is from the Philippines, and her mother is from Korea. She went to the Punahou School in Honolulu.
Allisen was a golf star from a very young age. She was named an AJGA All-American three times. In 2008, when she was just 10 years old, she became the youngest person ever to qualify for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links tournament. This was even younger than famous golfer Michelle Wie! The New York Times newspaper wrote an article about her, calling her "Golf's Next Wave."
Before going to college, Allisen had already played in many big golf events. She won the 2014 Hawaii State Open. She also played for Hawaii in the 2014 Asia Pacific Junior Cup. In 2016, she was second at the Canadian Women's Amateur Championship. She also won the Hawaii State High School Championship that year.
Allisen played college golf at the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2021. She was a top player for the USC Trojans women's golf team. She was even named a first-team All-American. She also represented the United States in important team events like the Arnold Palmer Cup in 2020 and 2021, and the 2021 Curtis Cup.
Allisen's Professional Golf Career
Allisen Corpuz became a professional golfer in 2021. She played well enough at Q-School to join the LPGA Tour in 2022. In her first year, she played in 21 tournaments and made the cut in 17 of them. She finished 41st in the Women's World Golf Rankings. She also had three top-10 finishes, meaning she placed among the top 10 players.
In July 2023, Allisen achieved a huge win. She won the 2023 U.S. Women's Open by three strokes. This was her first win on the LPGA Tour. She also won $2 million, which was a record amount for the tournament. After this big win, her world ranking went up to #8.
