Allison Joseph, born in 1967, is an American poet, editor, and teacher. She has written many poetry books. Her most recent full-length collection is Confessions of a Bare-Faced Woman, published in 2018.

About Allison Joseph
Allison Joseph was born in London, England. Her parents came from Jamaica. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, and in the Bronx, New York. She went to Kenyon College and earned a bachelor's degree. Later, she received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
Today, Allison Joseph teaches at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). She also started and directs the Young Writers Workshop at SIUC. This program began in 1999. It is a four-day summer program for high school students who love to write. Many teachers and graduate students from SIUC help with the workshop. Students from different states come to learn there.
In 1995, she helped start Crab Orchard Review, a magazine. She was the poetry editor for the magazine. Since 2001, she has been the editor-in-chief. Allison Joseph also founded No Chair Press, where she is the publisher. She lives in Carbondale, Illinois. In August 2021, Joseph taught at the Poetry Seminar for The Frost Place.
Allison Joseph was married to Jon Tribble, who was also a poet. They worked together to start the Crab Orchard Review. Jon Tribble passed away in October 2019.
