Allison Joseph (born 1967) is an American poet, editor, and professor. She was born in London, England. She has written many poetry books. Her most recent one is Confessions of a Bare-Faced Woman, published in 2018.

About Allison Joseph
Allison Joseph was born in London, England. Her family came from Jamaica. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, and the Bronx, New York. She went to Kenyon College and earned a bachelor's degree. Later, she received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
Today, Allison Joseph teaches at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). She also directs the Young Writers Workshop at SIUC. She started this workshop in 1999. It is a four-day summer program for high school students who love to write. Many teachers and students from SIUC help with the workshop. Young writers from many different states come to learn there.
In 1995, Allison Joseph helped start Crab Orchard Review. This is a magazine that publishes poetry and stories. She was the poetry editor at first. Since 2001, she has been the editor-in-chief. She also started her own publishing company called No Chair Press. Allison Joseph lives in Carbondale, Illinois. She will be teaching at The Frost Place Poetry Seminar in August 2021.
Allison Joseph was married to fellow poet Jon Tribble for over thirty years. They worked together to start Crab Orchard Review. Jon Tribble passed away in 2019.
