Allison Gyle Woodruff is an American computer scientist. She studies how people use computers. This field is called human–computer interaction. She also works on making sure computer programs are fair. Her work helps with protecting the environment and using technology for good. Currently, she helps make Google's products safe and private for users. She is a user experience researcher in the Google Security & Privacy team.

Her Journey in Computer Science

Allison Woodruff studied English first at California State University, Chico. Then, she earned two master's degrees. These were in linguistics (the study of language) and computer science. She got these degrees from the University of California, Davis.

In 1998, she earned her Ph.D. (a very high degree) in computer science. She completed this at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research was about how to show information from databases clearly.

Before joining Google, she worked at Xerox PARC. This was from 1998 to 2004. After that, she worked at Intel Research Berkeley.

Awards and Recognition

Allison Woodruff was recognized for her important work in 2021. She was named to the CHI Academy. This is a special group of people who have done amazing things in human-computer interaction.
