Ally Seifried grew up in Oklahoma. Her family has lived there for many generations. She is also a member of the Cherokee Nation.
She learned at home for some of her schooling. Later, she went to Claremore Christian School for high school. After high school, Ally Seifried attended Rogers State University. She played basketball for the university team. In 2015, she earned her bachelor's degree in political science. This degree focuses on how governments work.
Career Path
After finishing college, Ally Seifried started her career. From 2016 to 2017, she worked for Oklahoma State Senator Dan Newberry. She was his executive assistant, helping him with his daily tasks.
Currently, Ally Seifried works for Müllerhaus Legacy. This company is a publishing business located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Serving in the Oklahoma Senate
In 2022, Ally Seifried decided to run for the Oklahoma Senate. She wanted to represent the 2nd district. The previous senator, Marty Quinn, was retiring.
Ally Seifried was one of four Republican candidates. She faced Keith Austin, Jarrin Jackson, and Coy Jenkins in the primary election. A primary election helps parties choose their best candidate.
She advanced to a runoff election against Jarrin Jackson. A runoff election happens when no candidate wins more than half the votes in the primary. Ally Seifried won this runoff election in August 2022.
In November 2022, she won the general election. She defeated Jennifer Esau, the candidate from the Democratic Party. Ally Seifried officially took office on November 16, 2022.
