Exploring Alpha's Past
Alpha was established a long time ago, in May 1871. It got its name "Alpha" because it was the very first community to be founded along Crane Creek. "Alpha" is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, so it means "the first."
In 1925, about 100 people lived in Alpha. By 1940, the population had grown a little to 119 people.
