The Alton Towers Waterpark is a super fun water park located at the Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, England. It used to be called Cariba Creek. Imagine a tropical island lagoon, but indoors! This waterpark is right next to the Splash Landings Hotel and has awesome water rides and pools both inside and outside.

History of Alton Towers Waterpark

How the Waterpark Started

After the first Alton Towers Hotel opened in 1996, people started planning a second hotel. This new hotel would also have a cool water park! The water park was first going to be called Splash Landings. But in 2003, the hotel had to change its name from Calypso Springs. So, the water park's name changed too, becoming Cariba Creek.

Opening and Changes

The water park opened in June 2003, right alongside the new hotel. It had to close for a short time to finish some building work. When it first opened, only guests staying at the hotel could visit. But in 2004, the park started selling tickets to everyone!

In 2013, the water park celebrated a big birthday: its 10th anniversary!
