Early Life and College Years
Alvin Scott grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee. He went to Oral Roberts University for college. There, he played basketball for the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles team from 1973 to 1977. His skills on the court helped him get noticed by professional teams.
Playing in the NBA
Alvin Scott was chosen by the Phoenix Suns in the 1977 NBA Draft. He was the 136th pick in the 7th round. He quickly became an important player for the Suns. He played for them for eight seasons, from 1977 to 1985.
