About Ama Agbeze
Ama Agbeze was born in Birmingham, England. Her parents are from Nigeria. She has two older sisters and one younger brother. Ama went to Kings Norton Girls' School and Monkton Combe School.
She studied at Loughborough University and earned a master's degree in Finance and Management. She also studied Law at the University of Leicester and became a qualified lawyer. In 2016, Ama married Fred Donovan in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ama Agbeze has had a long and successful career in netball. She played for many different teams in various leagues.
Early Club Teams
From 2001 to 2005, Ama played in a league called the Super Cup. During this time, she played for teams like Team Bath, Birmingham Blaze, Northumbria Flames, and London Hurricanes.
Playing in England's Superleague
Between 2005 and 2007, while she was at university, Ama played for Loughborough Lightning in the Netball Superleague. This is a top netball league in England. She returned to play for Lightning again in 2016. She also played for Leeds Carnegie during the 2008–09 season.
Later, in 2019, Ama played for London Pulse. She then joined Saracens Mavericks for a special tournament called the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship. In 2020, she played for Severn Stars.
Playing in Australia and New Zealand
Ama also played in major netball leagues in Australia and New Zealand. In 2008, she joined the new ANZ Championship league. She played for West Coast Fever and later for Melbourne Vixens in 2009. In 2010, she moved to Central Pulse. She returned to West Coast Fever in 2011.
In 2012, Ama was a player-coach for West Coast Falcons, helping them win a local league. She also won the Jill McIntosh Medal for her great performance. In 2013, she played for Territory Storm before rejoining Central Pulse for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. She later played for Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2017 and Northern Stars in 2018. In 2021, she played for Northern Mystics.
Representing England
Ama Agbeze first played for the England senior team in 2001. She was part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. In 2016, she became the captain of the England team.
As captain, she led England to win the European Netball Championship in 2016. They also won the 2017 Fast5 Netball World Series in 2017. Her biggest achievement as captain was leading England to win the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In October 2018, Ama played her 100th game for England. In 2019, she received an MBE for her contributions to netball.
