Ama Agbeze is a famous England netball international. She was born on November 12, 1982. She is well-known for being the captain of the England team. Under her leadership, England won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She also helped England win a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. In 2019, she received an MBE award. Ama Agbeze's Early Life and Education
Ama Agbeze grew up in Birmingham, England. Her parents are from Nigeria. She has two older sisters and one younger brother. Ama went to Kings Norton Girls' School and Monkton Combe School.
After school, she studied at two universities. From 2004 to 2007, she attended Loughborough University. There, she earned a master's degree in Finance and Management. She also studied Law and Criminal Justice at the University of Leicester. Ama is a qualified lawyer. In 2016, she married Fred Donovan in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ama Agbeze has had a long and successful netball career. She has played for many teams around the world.
Playing in the Super Cup
Between 2001 and 2005, Ama played in the AENA Super Cup. This was an important netball competition in England. During this time, she played for several teams. These included Team Bath, Birmingham Blaze, Northumbria Flames, and London Hurricanes.
Playing in the Netball Superleague
The Netball Superleague is the top netball league in England. Ama played for Loughborough Lightning from 2005 to 2007. This was while she was studying at Loughborough University. She returned to play for Lightning again in 2016.
Ama also played for Leeds Carnegie during the 2008–09 season. In 2019, she played for London Pulse. Later that year, she joined Saracens Mavericks for a special tournament. In 2020, she played for Severn Stars.
Playing in Australia and New Zealand
Ama Agbeze also played in major netball leagues overseas. She played for three different teams in the ANZ Championship. This was a big league for teams from Australia and New Zealand.
In 2008, she joined West Coast Fever in Australia. Many other English players also joined this new league. She then moved to the Melbourne Vixens for the 2009 season. After that, she played for Central Pulse in New Zealand in 2010. In 2011, she returned to West Coast Fever.
In 2012, Ama was a player-coach for West Coast Falcons. She helped them win the West Australian Netball League. She also won the Jill McIntosh Medal that year. In 2013, she played for Territory Storm in the Australian Netball League. She then rejoined Central Pulse for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Later, she played for Adelaide Thunderbirds in Australia in 2017. In 2018, she played for Northern Stars in New Zealand. She also played for Northern Mystics in New Zealand in 2021.
Playing for England's National Team
Ama Agbeze made her first appearance for the England senior team in 2001. She was part of the England team that won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
In 2016, she was chosen to be the England captain. As captain, she led England to win the 2016 European Netball Championship. She also led them to win the 2017 Fast5 Netball World Series. Her biggest achievement as captain was leading England to win the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
In October 2018, Ama played her 100th game for England. This was during a series against Jamaica. In 2019, she received an MBE award for her amazing contributions to netball.
