Amalda depressa, often called the depressed ancilla, is a type of small sea snail. It's a marine gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family called Ancillariidae. These snails live in the ocean.
What Does It Look Like?
The shell of the Amalda depressa can be anywhere from 11 mm to 26 mm long. To give you an idea, 11 mm is about the size of a small button, and 26 mm is roughly the length of a large grape.
Where Does It Live?
This marine snail is found only off the coast of New Zealand. When a species lives only in one specific area, it is called endemic to that place. So, the Amalda depressa is endemic to New Zealand.
