Amanda Lathlin represents the area called The Pas-Kameesak. She is a member of the New Democratic Party of Manitoba. She made history by becoming the first First Nations woman ever elected to Manitoba's provincial legislature. Her father, Oscar Lathlin, was also a politician. He represented the area of The Pas from 1990 to 2008.

Before becoming a politician, Amanda Lathlin worked at the University College of the North. She also served as a band councillor for the Opaskwayak Cree Nation. This means she helped lead her community.
