Amanda then represented Thailand at the Miss Universe 2020 competition, where she was one of the Top 10 finalists.

Amanda Obdam was born on June 17, 1993, in Phuket, Thailand. Her mother is Thai-Chinese, and her father is Dutch-Canadian. This means Amanda has a mix of different backgrounds!
Her School Days
Amanda went to school in Phuket. She studied in the English program at Satree Phuket School. She also attended the British International School, Phuket. After finishing school, she moved to Toronto, Canada. There, she studied at the University of Toronto Mississauga. In 2015, she graduated with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. She earned "first-class honours," which means she did very well in her studies!

Amanda started competing in beauty pageants in 2015. These competitions are about more than just looks. They also focus on a person's confidence, public speaking, and personality.
Early Competitions
- Miss Thailand World 2015: Amanda first competed in this pageant. She made it into the top ten finalists.
- Miss Grand Phuket 2016: She won this competition, which allowed her to represent Phuket Province in the next big pageant.
- Miss Grand Thailand 2016: Amanda competed here and again placed in the top ten. She also won a special award called "Miss Rising Star."
- Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2016: After her success in Thailand, Amanda was chosen to represent her country in Cambodia. She won this international title!
Miss Universe Thailand 2020
In 2020, Amanda became a contestant in Miss Universe Thailand 2020. She quickly became a favorite to win.
- She won a special award before the main event called "Miss Prissana."
- She was also one of five contestants to receive a "golden tiara."
- Her strong speaking skills helped her get a special entry into the top twenty.
The final competition took place on October 10, 2020, in Bangkok. Amanda did very well in each round. She eventually won the title and was crowned by the previous winner, Paweensuda Drouin. Amanda was the second person in a row with Thai-Canadian heritage to win this title.
Miss Universe 2020
After winning in Thailand, Amanda represented her country at the 69th Miss Universe 2020 competition. This big event happened on May 16, 2021, in Hollywood, Florida, United States. Amanda performed wonderfully and finished as one of the Top 10 finalists in the world!
