Starting Out in Newcastle

Amber Rose Gill was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on August 4, 1997. Before she became famous on TV, she worked as a beauty therapist. She even helped run a salon with her aunt.

Winning Love Island

In June 2019, Amber joined the fifth season of Love Island as a contestant. She entered the villa on the very first day. During the show, she was paired with a few different people.

She eventually teamed up with rugby player Greg O'Shea. They won the show together on July 29, 2019. They even beat the favorites, Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, in the final.

After Love Island

After winning Love Island, Amber became very popular. She appeared on many other TV shows. These include Love Island: Aftersun, This Morning, and Good Morning Britain. She also launched her own clothing line with a brand called Misspap.

Hosting and Writing

In June 2021, it was announced that Amber would host a show called The Full Treatment on ITV2. She hosted it with another Love Island winner, Kem Cetinay. The show worked with a mental health charity. Amber and Kem gave celebrities makeovers while talking about their feelings and well-being.

Amber was asked to be a judge for a writing competition. This competition looked for stories from different backgrounds. Later, she was asked if she wanted to write her own book. Amber said this was a big surprise for her. She wanted her book to be a Black love story.

Her book, Until I Met You, was released in July 2022. She wrote it with Nadine Gonzalez, an author from the US. The story is set in Tobago, which is part of Amber's family background. Amber has shared that she hopes to write more books in the future.
