They lived in a country cabin without many modern things. Amber didn't even watch TV until she was nine years old! From a young age, she loved to read books.

Starting Her Fitness Journey

In high school, Amber was very active. She played sports like track, basketball, and martial arts. When she was 23, she started weight training to feel better. She soon discovered she really loved fitness.

After training for a few years, Amber learned gymnastics at age 25. In 2001, she entered her first fitness competition. It was called the NPC San Jose Fitness and Figure Championships. She won first place in both fitness and figure! After this first win, Amber decided to focus only on figure competitions.
