Amber Morley is a Canadian politician who helps lead the city of Toronto. She has been a Toronto City Councillor for an area called Ward 3 Etobicoke—Lakeshore since 2022. She also serves as one of the Deputy Mayors for the Etobicoke and York parts of the city since 2023.

What Did She Do Before Politics?

Before she became a city councillor, Amber Morley worked at a place called the LAMP Community Health Centre. This centre helps people in the community with their health and other important needs.

She also worked as an assistant for a former city councillor named Peter Milczyn. In 2017, she received a special award called the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. She got this award for her great work helping people at the LAMP Community Health Centre.

Her Journey in Politics

Amber Morley first ran for a spot on the Toronto City Council in 2018. This was during the city election for Ward 3 Etobicoke—Lakeshore. She came in second place in that election.

She decided to run again in the 2022 city election. This time, she won and became the city councillor for her area! Many other politicians supported her during her campaign. These included Councillor Josh Matlow and former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) from the New Democratic Party.

After Olivia Chow became the new Mayor of Toronto in 2023, Amber Morley was chosen for an important role. She became one of four Deputy Mayors for Toronto. In this role, she helps represent the Etobicoke and York areas of the city.
