Ambuquí is a small rural area in northern Ecuador. It is a "parish," which is like a local district. You can find it in the Imbabura Province.
Ambuquí is located in the Chota Valley. It is about 29 kilometers (about 18 miles) away from the city of Ibarra.
This area is well-known for growing a special fruit. It is a reddish-yellow fruit called Spondias purpurea. Locally, people call this fruit "ovo." It is one of the main places in Ecuador that produces this type of fruit.
