Early Life and College Basketball
Ameer Jackson was born in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1994. He started playing varsity basketball as a junior point guard for Northwest Cabarrus High School. Later, he moved to Virginia and attended Fork Union Military Academy. During the 2011–12 season, he was the highest-scoring player for their team.
After returning to North Carolina, Jackson attended Evelyn Mack Academy. Because of his high scoring averages in high school, he signed with Dodge City Community College in Kansas. He played two seasons for Dodge City.
In 2015, Jackson joined Sam Houston State University for the 2015–16 season. However, he had to stop playing after four games due to a torn ligament. After he recovered, Jackson went back to North Carolina. He transferred to the Winston-Salem State Rams for the second part of the 2016–17 season. He was the second-highest scorer for the team that season.
Professional Basketball Journey
Jackson decided to start his professional career instead of playing his final season with the Rams. He signed with CN Aurel Vlaicu București in Bucharest, Romania. He played as a point guard in the Liga I league. In his first game against CSU Știința București, Jackson scored 32 points. He averaged 37.3 points per game for that season.
For the 2018–19 season, Jackson signed with Al-Khor SC in Qatar. He was one of three international players on the team. At that time, Jackson was the youngest international player in the Qatari Basketball League.
Even though Al-Khor did not perform well as a team, Jackson had a great season personally. He was the top scorer in the league for the 2018–19 season, averaging 24.3 points per game.
In 2021, Jackson joined the Soles de Santo Domingo Este team in the Dominican Republic. He averaged 7.0 points, 2.4 assists, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. On December 11, 2021, he signed with KB Rahoveci in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. On March 1, 2022, Jackson signed with Al Hilal Benghazi in the Libyan Division I Basketball League.
