The first ever Amherst Ultimate Invitational Tournament happened in 1992. That means it has been going on for many years, helping young Ultimate players show off their skills.
Who Plays in the Tournament?
Each year, around 30 strong teams come to Amherst for the tournament. These teams are from high schools all over the Northeast region of the United States. They come to compete, have fun, and try to win the championship.
Past Champions and Teams
In 2018, the champions were Amherst Regional High School for the boys' teams and H-B Woodlawn for the girls' teams.
Back in 2010, the tournament had 30 teams in total. Out of these, 20 teams were boys' teams, and 10 were girls' teams. This shows how popular Ultimate Frisbee is becoming for both boys and girls in high school.
