Ami Otaki (大滝 麻未, Ōtaki Ami, born July 28, 1989) is a Japanese footballer. She was born in Hiratsuka, Japan. Ami plays as a forward, which means her main job is to score goals! She currently plays for JEF United Chiba. Ami has also played for the Japan national team.
Ami Otaki's Football Journey
Ami Otaki was born on July 28, 1989. After finishing her studies at Waseda University, she started her professional football career.
Playing for Clubs
In 2012, Ami joined a famous French club called Olympique Lyonnais. This team was very strong and even won the UEFA Champions League that year!
In June 2013, Ami returned to Japan. She joined a team called Urawa Reds. After a year, in December 2014, she went back to France to play for En Avant Guingamp.
In May 2015, Ami decided to take a break from football. She spent a year studying in the 17th FIFA Master program. This program teaches about sports management. She finished her studies in July 2017.
Later that same month, Ami signed a one-year contract with another French club, Paris FC. In January 2018, she came back to Japan again. She joined NHK Spring Yokohama FC Seagulls. In 2019, she moved to her current team, JEF United Chiba.
Playing for Japan's National Team
Ami Otaki also had the chance to play for her country. On June 20, 2012, she played her first game for the Japan national team against Sweden. She played a total of 3 games for Japan until 2013.
