Amir Karić (born on December 31, 1973) is a Slovenian football coach and a former player. He mostly played as a left-back, but he could also play as a midfielder. He was known for his strong play and long career.
Amir Karić's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs
Amir Karić played for many football clubs during his career. He started his professional journey in Slovenia with Rudar Velenje and later became well-known at Maribor.
After showing his skills at the 2000 European Championships, an English club called Ipswich Town signed him in August 2000. He also played a few matches on loan for Crystal Palace.
Amir Karić also played for teams in other countries. He played for Gamba Osaka in Japan and Moscow in Russia. He also spent time with AEL Limassol and Anorthosis in Cyprus. He returned to Slovenia to play for clubs like Koper and Olimpija Ljubljana. He continued playing football until 2022, showing his dedication to the sport.
Playing for Slovenia
Amir Karić was an important player for the Slovenian national team. He played his first game for Slovenia in May 1996. In that game, he also scored his first and only goal for his country.
