Amir Wilson was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. His father, Paul, was English, and his mother, Nagla, is Sudanese. Amir has an older sister named Iman. He grew up in a part of Shrewsbury called Monkmoor.
Amir went to St. Giles' C of E Primary School. He started acting and training with a local theatre group called Get Your Wigle On. This is where he began his journey into acting.
