Amish Tripathi, born on October 18, 1974, is a well-known author from India. He has also worked as a diplomat and a TV host. He is famous for writing exciting stories based on Indian myths and history.

His books have sold over 7 million copies. They have been translated into 20 different languages, both Indian and international. From 2019 to 2023, he worked as a diplomat in London. He was the Minister for Culture and Education at the High Commission of India in the UK. He also directed the Nehru Centre in London. Amish also hosts and produces TV shows. Some of his recent shows include Legends of the Ramayana with Amish and The Journey of India. He also has a popular podcast called Immortal India with Amish.

Early Life and School

Amish Tripathi was born in Mumbai, India. He grew up near a place called Rourkela in Odisha. He went to several good schools and colleges. These include The Lawrence School, Lovedale, and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Before becoming a writer, Amish worked in the financial world for 14 years. He worked for different banks and insurance companies. This was after he finished his studies at IIM-Calcutta.

Becoming a Writer

Amish's first book was The Immortals of Meluha. It came out in 2010. This book was the first part of The Shiva Trilogy. The second book, The Secret of the Nagas, was released in 2011. The last book in the series, The Oath of the Vayuputras, came out in 2013. The Shiva Trilogy became the fastest-selling book series in Indian history.

His next big series was Ram Chandra Series. The first book, The Scion of Ikshvaku, was released in 2015. It tells the story of Lord Ram. This book won an award called the Crossword Book's "Best Popular Award". The second book, Sita: Warrior of Mithila, came out in 2017. It was the best-selling book of that year. Raavan: The Enemy of Aryavarta was the third book, released in 2019. The fourth book, War of Lanka, was released in 2022. The Ram Chandra Series is the second-fastest-selling series in India.

In 2020, Amish released Legend of Suheldev: The King Who Saved India. This was his first historical book. He also wrote non-fiction books. These include Immortal India (2017) and Dharma: Decoding the Epics for a Meaningful Life (2020). He co-authored Dharma and Idols: Unearthing the Power of Murti Puja (2023) with his sister Bhavna Roy.

Amish's books have been translated into many languages. These include Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, French, and Polish. In 2022, he shared that he plans to write a book about the Mahabharata. Working in Film

In 2020, Amish announced he would produce a movie. It is based on his book, Legend of Suheldev: The King Who Saved India. His company, Immortal Studios, is making it. In August 2024, Amish became the Creative Director for a film called Shri Radha Ramanam. This movie will tell the story of Lord Krishna to people around the world. It is planned for release in February 2026.

Being a Broadcaster

Amish started hosting documentaries with Legends of the Ramayana with Amish. This show won an award for Best Documentary. He also hosted an episode on faith for The Journey of India. He explored India's many different beliefs.

In January 2024, his documentary Ram Janmabhoomi: Return of a splendid sun was released. It explored the history of the Ram Janmabhoomi and the life of Lord Ram. Amish hosted and co-produced this documentary. It became one of the most-watched Hindi unscripted shows of 2024.

In early 2025, two more documentaries hosted by Amish were released. These were Mahakumbh Tales with Amish and Legends of Shiva with Amish. The Legends of Shiva show is the second season of his successful Legends series.

Amish Tripathi is working with game producer Nouredine Abboud. They are creating a new gaming series called "Bharatvarsha / The Age of Bharat." The first big video game is expected by late 2026.
