About the Amur River
The Amur River is like a natural border between China and Russia for a long stretch. It starts where two other rivers, the Shilka and the Argun, meet. From there, it flows for about 2,824 kilometers (1,755 miles) all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
This mighty river is super important for the people living along its banks. It helps with transportation, allowing boats to move goods and people. It also provides water for farming and is home to many different kinds of fish. The Amur River basin, which is the area of land drained by the river and its tributaries, is huge! It covers a vast region with diverse landscapes, from mountains to plains.
