Amy Okonkwo has played basketball in several countries. She spent three seasons playing in Spain. In 2022, she joined the French women's basketball league. Her first team in France was in Saint-Amand.
Playing in France
During her first season in France, Amy played very well. She scored about 12 points and got 6 rebounds in each game. After playing in Israel and Mexico, Amy joined Landerneau in 2023. She was the top scorer for her team there. She averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds per game. Her great playing helped her team stay in the league.
Playing for Nigeria
Amy is a proud member of the Nigerian national team. She has represented her country in major tournaments.
Olympic Games
Amy played for Nigeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This big event happened in 2021 due to a delay. She averaged 2.7 points and 1 rebound during the Olympics.
AfroBasket Success

She was also chosen for the All-Star Tournament team of 2023. She was the only Nigerian player to achieve two "double-doubles" in the tournament. A double-double means getting double-digit numbers in two different stats, like points and rebounds, in one game.
College Basketball Career
Before playing professionally, Amy played college basketball in the United States. She started at USC and later transferred to TCU.
College Highlights
Amy played for USC during the 2014-2015 season. After that, she sat out a season due to transfer rules. From 2016 to 2019, she played for TCU. She was a very important player for the TCU Horned Frogs. In 2018, she was named the Big 12 Sixth Player of the Year. This award goes to a player who comes off the bench but makes a big impact on the game.
