Amelia Cabeza de Pelayo Patterson (born July 16, 1912 – died December 28, 2019) was a talented Argentine composer, singer, poet, and teacher. She is famous for writing the official song, or anthem, for the Province of Salta. Many people in Argentina loved her music. The country's Ministry of Education even approved much of her work for use in schools.

About Amy Patterson
Amelia Patterson was born in San Miguel de Tucumán, a city in the Tucumán Province. When she was young, her family moved to Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. In Buenos Aires, she started learning music. She took private lessons to play both the violin and the piano.
Becoming a Music Teacher
After finishing high school, Amelia went to the Clementi Music School. She studied there for three years. She graduated as a music teacher, specializing in the violin. This diploma was given to her by Argentina's Ministry of Education. She also spent seven years studying classical singing with a private teacher.
Her Career and Achievements
In 1946, Patterson started working as a music teacher. She taught at three different music schools: Zorrilla, Alberdi, and Peter Pan. Four years later, she decided to leave these jobs for personal reasons.
When she left the Peter Pan school, she received a special gold medal. She earned this award for creating her own version of The Adventures of Peter Pan. This musical show was performed twice. It was shown at the Victoria Theater in Salta. It was also performed at the Miter Theaters in San Salvador de Jujuy and San Miguel de Tucumán.
Over the next ten years, Amelia became a private tutor. She taught many instruments, including piano, violin, and guitar. She also gave singing lessons. She became the Director of the Polyphonic Choir of Salta. In 1962, this choir performed 14 times. They gave public concerts and sang on the radio.
Later Life
Amelia Patterson lived a very long life. She turned 100 years old in July 2012. She passed away on December 28, 2019, at the age of 107.
